The Century Co., 1913.
His first book of nonfiction, one of 2,500 copies in presumed first binding. There must have been a jacket, but none of the copies online has even the remnants of one. There's also apparently a point, according to one of the listings, having to do with the presence of "Jew" versus "Hebrew" on page seven, but it's not clear which takes precedence. What makes this copy significant is the fact that it is inscribed to a Mr. A.B. Hoskall and dated 1913. No signed copies online. Dreiser's signature on various minor limited editions goes for less than $100. Allan was asking $250 for this book, which seems a tad high, especially considering there is a bookplate (not the recipient's, alas). If I kept it under the illusion I was going to read it I would be lying.
